The Wildlife Safari is a comprehensive full-day experience from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM that perfectly blends pristine nature, rich biodiversity, and Costa Rican tradition near the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge. Your adventure begins with a convenient morning pickup at 7:30 AM directly from your hotel, followed by a scenic drive through the beautiful rural landscapes and traditional plantations of San Carlos and Los Chiles. The journey leads to the lakeside ‘El Caimán’ restaurant, where your experience kicks off with a refreshing welcome snack before boarding a covered safari boat. During this two-hour river cruise along the calm waters of Río Frío, an expert naturalist guide will help you spot incredible wildlife, including exotic birds, iguanas, caimans, and white-faced or howler monkeys—with a unique chance to see the rare orange howler monkey.
